So last night I was sulking, I'd decided I don't deserve to eat as I'm too fat!
(Yes I know exactly like a stroppy teenager)
This I know was down to my own wayward eating over the weekend,
and yet I still felt sorry for myself.

To make matters worse my mate who also started at the same weight as me has broken the all important 'next target weight' He has hit 16stone 13.8lbs!

A crushing blow for me, but this has made me more determined to be better and certainly not go overboard with food and drink, just because the sun is out and lifes a blast!

Sometimes it does take a while to get into your own little rhythm of things, it took me over a year of "trying to diet" to finally gain enough will power to maintain it, try aim for 10 days of consistent dieting, baby steps at a time just to get used to shrinking your appetite a bit first.... I know how you feel its very difficult when you think what you could've achieved in the time especially when someone else has! I know it's hard but you just have to dust yourself off again turn that upset into thinking ok it took them x amount of time lose this amount of weight so I know its possible... You can do it and we all have our down moments, I used to be a nightmare for one bad thing and I thought oh well and made it a bad day... Then days off would turn to weeks... Trust me when you get a routine and see first water weight fly you'll be over the moon! You are allowed to have odd failures aswell we are human after all! If I born muncher and a pig like me can stick to a diet then you definitely can, good luck!

Thank you Megan, I've lost two stone +, both my mate and I were heading towards 19 and a half stone after Christmas. That was the alarm point in both our heads as we could see a 20 Stone day in the not too distant future. Do I feel better at this weight, TBH not necessarily but I look better and I've had to chuck out and replace clothes that no longer fit me. I suspect if I do lose another two stone I'll have to do it again. I will say that I have generally changed my diet, I used to eat loads of carbs. Two sandwiches and two bags of crisps for lunch was not unusual, then feel hungry 2 hours later! I found that since reducing the carbs, sweets junk food and takeaways I actually don't feel as hungry. I can eat a 400 calorie ready meal and be satisfied with that. My problems start when I get close to alcohol. I don't have one cider I have six over the day and wash it down with Tequila. Then because I don't care go for whatever I like when the munchies kick-in! I guess my message to myself is, keep away from alcohol, its not just the calories from the drink that makes me fat, its what I eat with it. (Plus it soon adds up to £££££)

It's a very easy way to spoil a diet alcohol I usually try turn towards lower calorie alcohols like pimms, vodka but even then they add up real fast! And it's like you say what you eat after the alcohol which for me usually involves the larger side of a kebab 🥙 😂 if you've lost two stone already your on an awesome start, our bodies adapt so quickly that's why it is easily possible to get used to smaller portions but at the same time very easy to get used to junk aswell 😔 just try take each day by day and set mini easier to achieve targets as you go, remember each day in a diet is a day of no gains at the very least! But you sound like your on a great start as it is so well done!

I decided to take a break from alcohol for a while and haven't had any since Easter. It hasn't been too painful actually and I don't really miss it which I thought I would. I would only drink on one perhaps two nights a week (I get up absurdly early and alcohol buggers up my sleep even in small quantities) but would drink 'too much' on those occasions, didn't however go for the kebabs or take-aways but bread and stuff like that. Funnily enough I used to lose more weight when I drank than I have now. I have the weirdest metabolism and if I don't lose anything this week I may have to go back on the vino! The thing is DM, you have to do what is right for you - everyone is different, this site is testament to that - so if you are feeling guilty about the beer, it's got to go for now. Doesn't have to be forever just try it and see if you can kick-start another slide down the scales.
