I didn't realize how quickly calories add up,especially when I'm not "mindfully eating".
I ate " healthy today...but still consumed an extra 700+ calories 😲😞
It's mind blowing how one can fool themselves into thinking they are doing "well" with their food just bcus their eating "healthy"... without never really taking into an account the "quantity" of food they are eating.
Well,tomorrow's a new day...fresh with no mistakes in it 🙋

That's why FatSecret is so great. Because it helps you be mindful of what your taking in and you can modify accordingly watching what you eat.

If you don't have one already, get a scale! You don't have to be fanatical, but seeing those portion sizes irl is eye-opening.

An easy way to keep things under control is to leave the table satisfied but not full. Of course if you have some high fat ingredients in your meal, this could still blow the calories out. And it only works for whole foods. You can't assess processed foods this way.

Yes they can! I love this app just to keep track of them. What I would like sometimes I see the calories and think no I’m good not wasting my whole day in a few bites lol

I know plenty of people who eat "healthy" but refuse to count calories. They are overconsuming so their diet is actually unhealthy. Micronutrient dense maybe, but not healthy.

My philosophy is LOG EVERYTHING. No matter what you think, you are probably eating more than you realize unless you write it all down. I found, before I started my diet, that I was eating nearly 3500 calories a day and over 400 grams of carbs. I knew I wasn't eating well, but I had no idea it was so bad. Now I log everything, good or bad, that goes into my mouth. It keeps me in check.
